Singapore Gaelic Lions Athletic ClubSGL is an amateur sporting club with Mens and Ladies Gaelic Football and Hurling teams, both the National sports of Ireland. The club also has very active Kids section along with a vibrant Social scene and Charity programme. The club is open to new members, regardless of your playing ability or experience. Mens and Ladies Sunday Football & Hurling training has started for 2009. We are in our new venue at SCC Pitch @ Dempsey Road. Don't forget to bring plenty of Water & Mozzie Spray! Also ensure you READ the Guidelines for training in a Hot Climate here and ensure that your health & safety is your number one priority when you are training with SGL. And as always, remember it is your responsibility to make sure you are properly insured to play contact sports. Training times below: Hurling @ 3:30pm, Mens Football @ 4:30pm, Ladies @ 5pm ****** Monday 5km - starts 8pm at Botanic Gardens Visitors Centre. Fitness Training on Tuesday nights (7:30pm @ SMU /NUS Track Bukit Timah) with Claire Dinsmore leading the pack this year. Mid-week Football will begin 9th July for the Ladies and 6th Aug for the Mens team - on Thursday nights (7:30pm @ SMU / NUS Pitch Bukit Timah) *** Note that training info can vary from week to week so it is best to sign up to the Mailing Lists to ensure you have the most up to date information. Indoor Hurling Ever tried Hurling in the Cage???? Well the boyos are starting this up on Fridays at Turf City for the coming weeks. The Games is fast paced and played with a lighter sliothar and shorter hurls. Drop an email to our Hurling Coach for more details. SEA Gaelic Games - KL, Malaysia 8th/9th May The SEA Games was held in Kuala Lumpur on the 9th May. Singapore defended their Championship the Mens Tournament with a great show put on by the Cubs and the Ladies. For more details click here KL Challenge 2009 SGL returned victorious from the 2nd KL Challenge Trophy which was ably hosted by our friends in Orang Eire. To read more click here. AP Lions @ Singapore marathon: 89 runners took to the streets on December 7th to raise money at the marathon for the Singapore Heart Foundation. The run was in honour and rememberance of our great friend Alan Power of course. The total raised by the team stands upwards of $31,000!!! ..
